Whether you have a German employer or work for a company outside Germany, we prepare the Blue Card case from qualification and contract checks through the physical residence permit.

## Who this is for

- €50,700, or €45,934.20 in shortage roles
- Three years of relevant experience can replace a degree
- Your foreign employer can order a local hire through a payroll company

The Blue Card fits qualified employment at the published salary floor.

Use this as a first filter. We confirm the occupation, qualification and contract against the current rules.

### The Blue Card is worth checking if

- You have a German employment offer that clears the correct salary floor
- Your foreign employer can order a genuine local hire through a German payroll company
- You have a recognised degree or qualifying senior IT experience
- You want the fastest of the three German routes to permanent residence

### Check another route if

- You do not have an offer and need to search from inside Germany
- Your own freelance clients are the real work relationship
- The salary falls below the applicable 2026 floor
- The role and qualification do not match the Blue Card category

## Steps and timing

How to get a German Blue Card with one case team.

Your dedicated team handles six stages, with the payroll-company option used only when the foreign employer orders a genuine German hire.

### 1. Review the employment situation

Before engagement

We analyse the qualification, role, salary and employer setup and name the viable Blue Card route.

### 2. Verify the German employment

Before signing

We check a direct German contract or coordinate the payroll company when the foreign employer orders the hire.

### 3. Check the qualification

Before filing

We confirm degree recognition or build the three-year IT-experience evidence path.

### 4. Prepare every document

Before the appointment

We prepare the contract, forms, insurance and supporting materials and check the set before submission.

### 5. File the national visa

Consulate stage

We prepare the filing for the German consulate in the applicant's country and support the appointment.

### 6. Complete the Blue Card stage

After arrival

We prepare the local residence documents and coordinate the steps to the physical Blue Card.

## FAQ

### What is the German Blue Card?

It is a residence and work permit for highly qualified non-EU professionals. Its main advantage is the accelerated route to permanent residence.

### What are the 2026 minimum salary requirements?

The annual gross salary is €50,700 for standard occupations and €45,934.20 for shortage occupations including IT, engineering, mathematics, medicine and natural sciences. The figures are recalibrated annually.

### Do I need a university degree?

Usually a recognised university degree is used. IT professionals can instead show at least three years of relevant professional experience in the last seven.

### Do I need a German employer?

A German employment contract is required, but the original employer does not have to be German. A payroll company in Germany can employ you locally while your foreign employer orders the hire and keeps the working relationship.

### Can my family come with me?

Yes. A spouse and dependent children can join immediately. The spouse does not need to prove German before arrival and receives work rights.

### How soon can I get permanent residence?

After 21 months with B1 German, or after 27 months with basic German under the current rule. We recheck the language evidence before filing.

### Can I change employers?

Yes. During the first 12 months of Blue Card employment you inform the immigration office about a job change. After that, changes are more flexible while the Blue Card conditions still have to be met.

### What changed for mobility inside the EU?

Qualifying mobility can start after 12 months under the current Blue Card directive. The old 18-month wait no longer applies.
