Who qualifies for the Global Talent Visa?
Recognised leaders or rising talent in digital technology, science and research, or arts and culture. The endorsing body assesses awards, publications, media, senior roles, research, product impact and other field-specific evidence.
Do I need a job offer or a specific salary?
No. There is no job offer, salary floor or investment requirement. The decision is based on the endorsed record and potential.
What is endorsement?
An approved body decides whether your portfolio meets the criteria for its field. The endorsement then supports the separate visa application to UK Visas and Immigration.
How long does the whole process take?
Plan around eight weeks for endorsement and around three weeks for the subsequent visa decision, plus the time needed to build evidence and references. End to end, the UK country page uses a two- to six-month planning range.
How soon can I apply for settlement?
After three years on the exceptional-talent leader track, or five years on the exceptional-promise rising-talent track, provided the settlement rules are met.
Is the route realistic for applicants from Nigeria, India or Pakistan?
Yes. The criteria are based on the record, not nationality. Legalisation, certified translation, identity and source documents need to be prepared for the country where they were issued.
Can I bring my family?
Yes. A spouse or partner and children under 18 can apply as dependants. Your partner has unrestricted work rights.
