What the employee route gives you

A French job can carry the residence case

The contract is the centre of the file. The right employee route removes the separate work-permit step and can place your family on the same timeline.

The salary, role and qualification have to tell one story.

A contract above the number is not enough on its own. We test the job, the applicant's background and the employer against the exact Talent subtype before the file is built.

Editorial illustration of a work route being selected

No separate work authorisation

Once the employee Talent route fits, the French employer does not run a separate work-authorisation case.

The base floor is €39,582

The skilled employee, innovative-company employee and intra-group mission routes use the current reference salary.

Your family files with you

Your spouse applies for the paired family permit with open work rights, and minor children join the residence file.

The card follows the contract

A qualifying contract can support a residence card for the contract term, up to four years.

Employee route comparison

Skilled employee, Blue Card or intra-group mission?

The employer, contract length, salary and qualification decide the route. The three files are related, but they are not interchangeable.

What the file must connect

Four facts decide an employee Talent case

We check the route before documents are ordered, because the wrong subtype changes the salary, qualification and employer evidence.

Role

Match the job to the subtype

A graduate role, an innovative-company role and an intra-group mission each have a different legal gate.

Salary

Use the current threshold

We check the annual gross salary against €39,582 or the €59,373 Blue Card floor before you sign.

Qualification

Prove the degree or experience

The file shows why your education or comparable senior experience fits the work you will do.

Family

Build every permit together

Marriage, birth and dependency documents are prepared on the same timetable as the main application.

Why work in France

Why take the Talent route to France

The permit handles the move. The country decision is about the work, the family and the long-term residence path it supports.

A multi-year card

The card follows the contract and can run for up to four years instead of returning you to an annual renewal queue.

Family work rights

Your spouse can work on the paired family permit, and your children join the same move.

Schengen mobility

French residence supports short travel across the Schengen Area while France remains the home base of the permit.

A five-year nationality clock

Qualifying residence can lead to a citizenship application after five years when the residence, language and integration tests are met.

Choose the route before you accept the contract. A salary can clear one Talent threshold and still miss the qualification gate. We check both.

Fit check

This page is for employees, not founders

Use the first call to identify the employment subtype and the exact evidence the employer must provide.

Employee Talent is worth checking if

  • You have a French contract paying at least €39,582 gross a year
  • You hold a qualifying French master-level diploma
  • You are joining an eligible innovative company in a role tied to its innovation work
  • You are moving to a French entity after at least three months in the same group
  • Your Blue Card offer pays at least €59,373 gross a year

Use another route if

  • You have no French contract yet
  • The salary clears the floor but the qualification does not match the route
  • The innovative-company role is unrelated to the company's innovation project
  • You are building your own project rather than taking employment

France employee questions

Talent questions, answered

The questions that decide whether the contract can carry the file.

Is Talent the same as Passeport Talent?

Yes. Talent is the current name for the same permit family. The employee page uses the current label; the legal naming source stays in the claims ledger.

How do I know which employee route is mine?

It comes down to the employer, contract, salary and qualification. Skilled employee, innovative-company employee and intra-group mission use a €39,582 gross annual floor. The EU Blue Card uses €59,373 and a contract of at least six months. We confirm the fit before filing.

How long does a Talent case take?

Employment routes usually avoid the founder project-recognition stage, but the actual consular and residence timing depends on the filing post and the completeness of the employer documents. We give a current range after checking where you file.

What do the government fees come to?

Plan around €99 for the long-stay visa and €350 for the residence card per applicant. Government charges are separate from the Relovisa fee and are rechecked at filing.

What does Relovisa's fee cover?

Route strategy, contract and salary review, applicant and employer documents, the route-specific visa file, family permits and case management through visa issuance and the residence-card step.

Can my family come, and can my spouse work?

Yes. Your spouse applies for the paired family permit with open work rights, and minor children join the residence file. Each family member still receives an individual authority decision.

Do I need to speak French?

Most Talent holders are exempt from the A2 requirement at the first multi-year-card stage, subject to the exact subtype. Later long-term residence and citizenship applications have their own language rules.

What if my application is refused?

We analyse the reason and the evidence, then advise whether a correction, appeal or new filing is lawful and useful. The authority decides every application. Our results methodology is published on the success-rate page.

What if I do not have a French contract?

Use the founder route if you are building an innovative project, or the France country overview if you are still comparing categories. The employee Talent routes require a real French employment basis.
